Dehumidification for Weapon Storage

Weapons of all types need to be protected from corrosion during storage. This can be done by greasing the metal components and heating the enclosure, however, dehumidification has proven to deliver better quality results and be more energy efficient.

Dehumidification offers the following advantages:

  • Efficient in all climates.
  • Low upfront costs.
  • Simple installation.
  • Easy to control.
  • Straightforward maintenance.
  • Excellent reliability.

Our weapons storage system has the flexibility to be installed wherever required and move with the equipment. It can be adapted for use by any of the armed forces, whether with armoured brigades, missile silos, powdered ammunition or armouries.

There are two dehumidification systems:

  • Closed system:

Air recirculates through the dehumidifier and is controlled by a simple humidistat. It can be used for handheld weapons, portable radio transmitters, instruments, ammunition missiles, small military / medical storage.

  • Open systems:

The air is taken from the hangar or storage area and supplied into smaller enclosures surrounding the asset to be preserved. These enclosures are designed to maintain a small overpressure, the air exhausts through ports in the enclosure, back to the dehumidifier inlet. This system is designed to give 1 air change per hour within the enclosure. This system is used for larger and more complex items such as aircraft, helicopters, tanks, mobile radio, or radar stations.

FISAIR offers several series of desiccant dehumidifiers which can be adapted to each specific application. Each series features high quality components and an adaptable design focused on simple maintenance and low energy consumption.

We offer high quality with low dew points.
